Hello world!
Well, finally after many caffeine-fuelled encounters with artist and web veteran Ivan Pope at the Five Ways Deli I was persuaded that ‘retro’ print is where it’s now at and that we should set up a blog as a first step towards putting together a fanzine about camping before moving on to create a media empire. I’ll admit that I was, at least initially, a mite bit sceptical about getting involved with print publishing, despite his new Mazazero venture and our shared passion for getting out there. It’s just been rather a long time since I edited Fuse, the student union rag of the former Poly and ‘workers republic’ of North London. At the same, time I’ve also been making a living from the Internet pretty much ever since Ivan first showed me it’s pre-web incarnation back in the early 90s when he was at Goldsmith College. Guess we should have done something grown up like worked out our mission and business plan first, but that didn’t seem as much fun as jumping in with both feet. Anyway, we’ll keep you posted once we’ve figured out all the other stuff, and in the meantime we hope you enjoy the above.
